Thomas Brophy, CFP®, ChFC®
Associate Branch Manager, Financial Advisor
Thomas Brophy is the Associate Branch Manager of Baird’s Sioux City office, where he leads the team with a commitment to excellence, integrity, and client-focused service. In his role, Thomas is responsible for supporting advisors and ensuring clients receive comprehensive, thoughtful financial guidance aligned with their long-term goals, values, and risk tolerance. He is passionate about fostering a collaborative culture that helps both clients and advisors thrive. A lifelong learner, Thomas earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Construction Management from Dordt University, followed by an MBA from Northwest Missouri State University. He also holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation and the Chartered Financial Consultant® designation. Thomas and his wife Amanda have three children, Judah, Joelle, and Miriam, as well as their dog Finn. He is actively involved in his church and enjoys serving with the technology and production team. In his free time, Thomas enjoys hiking, fishing, reading, and playing basketball.
Sheenah Tonga
Branch Administrative Supervisor, Assistant Vice President
Sheenah is a Siouxland native who earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Morningside College. When she’s not working, Sheenah loves spending quality time with her husband, Spetlar, and their three sons—Tuff, Titan, and Teague. Whether it’s taking walks with their dogs, Reba and Chief, enjoying a round of golf, or staying active through sports and other athletic activities, family time is her favorite time. Sheenah is also involved in her church and enjoys giving back through various community organizations.
Kay Kurth
Branch Operations Assistant
Kay Kurth has been with Baird for five years, currently serving as a Branch Operations Assistant. Her career path is anything but traditional, bringing a diverse and meaningful range of experiences to her role. She began her professional journey as a medical technologist, and over the years has also worked as a research professional, ministry assistant, and even a photographer’s assistant. Each role has contributed to her well-rounded perspective and strong attention to detail.
Outside of work, Kay enjoys spending time with her husband, Brian, especially golfing together and making memories with their family. She has a passion for gardening—growing both vegetables and flowers—and loves caring for her cats, both indoors and outdoors.
Kay is the proud mother of two grown children, Patrick and Kayte. Patrick and his wife, Jess, are part of a growing family, and Kay treasures time with her two grandchildren.
